UNSW Rugby Club

Of rugby clinics. Since then, the UNSW Women's Rugby team has grown in strength and numbers, competing in the NSW Suburban Rugby Women's Division. The women's team trains alongside the men's team on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm at the David Phillips Sports Ground in Daceyville, which is just a short 20-minute walk from the university.

The UNSW Rugby Club prides itself on its rich history and tradition, with over 3,000 players and officials having been a part of the club. Many players have joined as students and continued to contribute to the UNSW Rugby community even after completing their studies and moving into their professional lives. Throughout its history, the club has achieved 31 premierships across all grades and has proudly claimed 3 club championships. Notably, the club has produced notable representatives, such as Simon Poidevin, who represented Australia while playing for the UNSW Rugby Club.

The club competes in the NSW Suburban Rugby's 2nd Division competition, which includes four senior grades and a U21 Colts grade. UNSW Rugby faces off against various clubs, including Epping, Barkers Old Boys, Hunters Hill, Newport, Hills, St Patrick's, and Lindfield. The club's commitment to teamwork, personal improvement, and creating a safe and friendly environment for its players, supporters, and families are at the core of its values. In addition to the men's team, the club also has a thriving women's rugby team that was established in 2017.
