The Bayside Tennis School, located on the Williamstown Campus in Melbourne, is a prestigious sports club that offers a unique opportunity to secondary school students from Year 7 to Year 12. In collaboration with Tennis Victoria, the school is committed to developing each athlete's potential while pursuing their tennis dreams.
Under the direction of John Trickey, the Programme Director, students in the Bayside Tennis School participate in a comprehensive programme that includes approximately 22 hours per fortnight of on-court training, competitions, tactical exercises, strength and conditioning sessions, nutrition education, and sports psychology instruction. In addition to the Tennis Programme, students also spend 28 hours in the College's renowned Academic Achievers Programme.
The Bayside Tennis School boasts world-class coaches who have excelled in both playing and coaching tennis at various levels. John Trickey, with an extensive resume, has won multiple State Junior Titles, played in the Pro Tour for 7 years, and has served as a coach for national teams and elite squads. Mark McGrath, another highly experienced coach, has worked with the Australian Institute of Sport and Tennis Australia for over 20 years, and has also trained top athletes from other sports, including cycling and Australian Rules Football. Other coaches at the school, such as Daniel Walsh, James Wong, Thim Efthimiadis, and Katherine Valos, bring their own competitive playing experience and expertise to the students.
