To experienced masters swimmers, Tateswim offers a range of programmes to suit different skill levels and goals.
One of the key features of Tateswim is the emphasis on intensive swimming. Swimmers are encouraged to attend two or more classes per week to become stronger and more proficient in the water. The club also prides itself on offering class flexibility, allowing swimmers to change their class days whenever necessary to accommodate their schedule.
In addition to the pool-based classes, Tateswim also offers dryland classes. These classes involve exercises and group activities that complement the swimming training and help swimmers build strength, flexibility, and overall fitness.
Being part of Tateswim means being part of a team and enjoying the benefits of a supportive and social environment. Swimmers have the opportunity to make friends with fellow swimmers and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with being part of a team. For those who are interested in competitive swimming, Tateswim is affiliated with M1 Swimming Club, providing swimmers with the opportunity to enter competitions and showcase their skills.
Tateswim is a family-owned and operated club, and the directors genuinely care about the progress and development of each swimmer. With a passion for swimming and a commitment to providing a high-quality training experience, the directors and coaches at Tateswim strive to help every swimmer reach their full potential.
Tateswim conducts its training at two venues. The first venue is the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC) in Glen Waverley. This facility boasts an indoor heated 25m pool and an outdoor heated 50m pool. Swimmers at MARC are required to have an entry pass to access the facilities.
The second venue is the Huntingtower Sports and Aquatic Centre, located in Mount Waverley. This facility features an indoor heated 25m pool. Swimmers do not require an entry card to access this centre, but only swimmers and coaches are allowed inside the pool area. Parents may watch the classes from the foyer area.
To get started with Tateswim, swimmers can enrol at any time throughout the year. The first step is to book an assessment online. The assessment takes approximately 10–15 minutes, and if the swimmer is ready for the programme, enrolment instructions will be provided via email. Completed enrolment forms can be sent to the club's email address.
Tateswim prides itself on its commitment to providing a safe and supportive training environment. The club follows strict child safety guidelines and has comprehensive terms and conditions in place to ensure the well-being of all swimmers.
