South Yarra Soccer Club (SYSC) is one of the oldest football clubs in Victoria, having been founded in 1928 in Melbourne's renowned Fawkner Park. As a not-for-profit organisation, SYSC relies on the support of sponsors, volunteers, community associations, and its dedicated members to successfully operate.
SYSC offers a diverse range of squads for both senior and junior players. They have Senior Women and Men's squads, Mini-Roos squads for young children, and Junior squads for various age groups. The club competes in several prestigious competitions, including the Victoria Women's leading League, State League 3 South East Men's, Metro League 1 and 2 Men's, Metro Masters (over 35s) Men's, Over 45s Men's, and numerous junior football leagues.
For individuals interested in joining South Yarra Soccer Club, there is an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to be completed for all squads. Details regarding trials and pre-season activities will be provided upon completion of the EOI form. The process and contacts differ based on the desired squad. Men interested in joining the Saturday State League 3 can complete the EOI form on the club's website.
Those looking for Sunday Metro League Division 1 and 2 can contact Ben Murphy. Men's Masters Over 35's can reach out to Steve Godbold, and Men's Over 45's can contact either Mark Baker or Stevie Logan. Women interested in VPLW Seniors and Reserves can also complete the EOI form on the website.
Training for both men and women takes place at Fawkner Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Junior players, including Mini Roos and Juniors, also have training sessions on these evenings. If unsure about which squad is suitable, individuals can reach out to the club via email for guidance and clarification.
SYSC proudly acknowledges its dedicated sponsors, whose support contributes to the success of the club. Details about the sponsors can be found on the club's website.
South Yarra Soccer Club also welcomes individuals interested in coaching or volunteering opportunities. The club values the contributions of volunteers and is always grateful for an extra pair of hands.
