Smythesdale and District Pony Club promotes safe, responsible horsemanship while encouraging individuality and exposure to a wide variety of equestrian disciplines conducted within PCAV guidelines.
The club encourages the development of life skills including leadership, teamwork, fair play and responsibility as well as developing a sense of community.
We have a holistic approach to the welfare of horse and rider alike and promote self-awareness, family involvement, and development of friendships, self-esteem, and respect for all with adherence to the code of conduct.
Our members range in age from 5 – 25 years and cover all levels of experience from beginners on the lead to seasoned competitors. We have a good mix of girls and boys.
As well as our monthly rallies we hold regular events for members and their families including a weekend camp and January rally sleep-over. Each year Smythesdale Pony Club hosts a PCAV and open class Horse Trials in April and a Gymkhana and SJ day in October.
