The team at Skythrills is composed of highly skilled pilots who are passionate about aerobatics. Jeremy Miller, the Director and Display Pilot, began learning to fly in the late 1990s and has flown at some of Australia's biggest airshows. With over 12,000 hours of total flight time and 5,500 hours of aerobatic flying, Jeremy's expertise guarantees a safe and thrilling experience. Another member of the team is David Spong, also known as Spongo, who has been flying for many years.
From flying fast jets in the RAAF to piloting commercial airliners, David brings a wealth of experience to the team.
Skythrills operates the Yak-55M aircraft, which was specifically designed for dedicated aerobatic performances. This single-engined, all-metal monoplane features a thick, symmetrical wing section for improved inverted flight. The pilot's cockpit is enclosed under a sliding teardrop canopy, providing an excellent view of the performance. Powered by a 360 horsepower Vedeneyev M14P engine, the Yak-55M delivers impressive agility and performance.
