Seiyushin Karate (Brisbane Honbu) is a distinguished sports club located in Brisbane, Australia. Founded by Kancho Shigeo Nagayama in 2003, the club has a rich history rooted in traditional Japanese karate.
Kancho Nagayama has been practising karate since 1975, originally training with the East-Tokyo Branch of the Kyokushin International Karate Organisation. In 1983, he became a private karate pupil, undergoing a special training course in the same organisation. His dedication and expertise led him to become a full-time karate instructor with the East-Tokyo Branch's scholarship association from 1986 to 1990.
After eight years of teaching karate in New Zealand, Kancho Nagayama moved to Brisbane, Australia, where he started his dojo operation under the Kyokushin Australia Organisation in 1999. However, in 2003, he established his own organisation, which is now known as Seiyushin Karate (Brisbane Honbu).
