Sahaja Yoga Australia – Mill Hill Community Centre is a sports club located in Sydney, Australia. This club offers free classes and workshops throughout the country to help individuals discover the unique technique of Sahaja Yoga Meditation. The founder of Sahaja Yoga, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, stated that the practise of this meditation technique allows individuals to experience the peace and balance in life.
To begin the journey of meditation, the first step is to follow a guided meditation by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, which activates the inner being. This process, known as Self-Realisation, involves placing the right hand on various energy centres on the left side and taking silent affirmations. Once the inner being has been activated, individuals can proceed to the daily 10-minute meditation practise.
The meditation practise involves sitting comfortably with both hands open, palms up on your lap. It is recommended to sit on a chair or on the floor, whichever is preferred. Removing shoes during the practise allows for a deeper connexion with Mother Earth. Taking a few deep breaths and then breathing in a quiet and relaxed manner sets the stage for meditation.
The attention should be focused above the head, with thoughts being allowed to pass without following them. In case thoughts persist, individuals can gently say within themselves, “Not this thought” or “I forgive myself, I forgive everyone. ” As peace is achieved, individuals may be able to feel a gentle cool breeze on their hands or gently blowing upward above their heads. When this sensation is experienced, the attention should be gently kept there.
Resting both hands on the lap, palms up, individuals can relax and enjoy the peace and silence within.
Apart from the meditation practise, Sahaja Yoga Australia – Mill Hill Community Centre offers various resources and opportunities for individuals to further their meditation experience.
