The goal of Petanque is to throw your balls closest to the target ball, you are in direct competition with one other team. The game can be played as individuals or in teams of up to 3 players, it can be played in parks but traditionally is played on a gravel rectangle. Coming from the Provence region of France the game is played worldwide and is loved for its portability and low physical impact.
