Northbridge Yoga is a sports club in Sydney that offers the opportunity to learn and practise yoga in some of the city's most beautiful locations. Founded by Carolyn Rossi, a senior teacher with over 30 years of yoga experience, Northbridge Yoga has been teaching authentic and personalised yoga on the waterfront at the Northbridge Sailing Club and Greenwich Sailing Club on Sydney's north shore since 2010.
The classes at Northbridge Yoga combine traditional postures with pranayama and meditation, creating a nurturing environment where people of all levels can develop their knowledge and enjoyment of yoga. With a regular yoga practise, participants can expect to increase their energy and vitality, improve strength and flexibility, find calmness and clarity of mind, and have fun along the way.
When attending yoga classes with Northbridge Yoga, participants also acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and pay respect to elders past, present, and emerging. The classes take place on Gadigal Country, recognising and honouring the fact that the land has always been and always will be Aboriginal land.
Caroline Rossi, the founder and senior teacher of Northbridge Yoga, has been practising yoga for over 35 years and has experienced the many benefits it offers. She has studied many styles of yoga and completed her full teaching qualifications with Judy Krupp and the Byron Yoga Centre in 2010. Her primary influence is the Yoga Synergy style developed by Simon Borg Olivier and Bianca Machliss, which is based on ancient Hatha yoga adapted for modern bodies and lifestyles.
In addition to her initial training, Rossi continues to further her skills and knowledge by completing courses with renowned teachers and exploring yogic philosophy through visits to the US and India. She has also trained as a psychotherapist, completing Advanced Clinical Training in Gestalt Therapy in 2021. Rossi is a registered Senior Teacher with Yoga Australia and offers personal therapy sessions aimed at guiding people to return to their natural state of wholeness.
