Nippers are young Surf Lifesavers aged between 5-14 who do not actually patrol the beaches but they tend to focus on fun and surf awareness. They learn about beach safety and dangers such as rocks and animals. Older nippers learn about First aid and CPR. Nippers participate in regular competitions against other clubs at sports carnivals in a variety of individual and team events. The competitive events include beach sprints, flags, swimming and board races, relays, etc.
