The Mount Pleasant District Pony Club Inc aims to encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sports connected with horses and riding. The club provides instruction in riding and horsemanship and instils in its member’s the proper care of their animals, whilst promoting the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, therefore cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.
The club welcomes both junior and adult members, and is located in the picturesque grounds of Talunga Park, Mount Pleasant. Rallies are generally held on the first Sunday of the month, unless the date clashes with another event or the Mount Barker forecast temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius. Rallies mostly involve a gear check at 9:30am, followed by 2 ridden sessions, then a shared lunch break, followed by another ridden or theory session after lunch.
