Evenings at Mosman Yoga Co-Op. I have also taught at other yoga studios in Sydney and have experience teaching private sessions.
At Mosman Yoga Co-Op, we offer a variety of yoga classes for all ages and levels of experience. Our beautiful studio is located in a serene bushland and harbour setting, creating a peaceful environment for practising yoga. We are fortunate to have the use of two historic buildings that were once the Rehabilitation Hospital for the army during and after World War I.
Building 21 houses two studios, Studio 4 & 5, while Building 23 boasts three studios, Studios 1 – 3. All of our studios overlook a wonderful verandah, providing a stunning view of South Head and the ocean beyond. Our students have been treated to breathtaking sunsets, sunrises, storms, and even sightings of local fauna during their practise. It's not uncommon to be serenaded by magpies or witness rabbits hopping by, making for a unique and surreal experience.
Classes at Mosman Yoga Co-Op are available during term times, and we run classes starting from Monday 9 October to Friday 15 December inclusive for Term 4 of 2023. Prior to attending a class, we encourage students to reach out to the teacher to discuss space availability. We warmly welcome both existing and new students to join our yoga community.
Our experienced teachers bring their own unique styles and expertise to their classes. For example, Simone Selby focuses on teaching a back rehabilitation class that combines physiotherapy, Pilates, and hatha yoga. Her 10-week programme addresses different parts of the body each week, targeting specific areas like the neck and shoulders, sacro-iliac and lumbar spine, and abdominals and sides. Through decompressing the vertebral column and strengthening core muscles, Simone's classes aim to alleviate back and neck problems.
Simone, like many other teachers at Mosman Yoga Co-Op, is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga and Pilates. Her own experience with chronic spinal pain and subsequent relief through a Pilates programme inspired her to become a teacher. With her background as a practising physiotherapist and acupuncturist, Simone incorporates education about the body's mechanics and blockages into her classes, allowing students to understand how the exercises can help them.
In addition to offering a range of classes taught by experienced instructors, Mosman Yoga Co-Op also promotes a sense of community. We believe that yoga is for everyone, regardless of age or level of experience, and we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Join us at Mosman Yoga Co-Op to experience the transformative power of yoga in a picturesque and supportive setting.
