About
The Monash Gryphons Amateur Football Club was formed in 1991 by Members and associates of the Chisholm Institute of Technology×. The Club entered a single team into the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) G Section South competition finishing 7th in their first year of competition.
And beyond.
The willingness to improve saw the Club win its first Minor leadingship in 1998, unfortunately the consistent football could not be replicated in the finals and the Club would have to continue to wait for its first leadingship.
Just over a decade after the Club had its first taste of finals football, the Club decided to take on an aggressive approach in securing on field success. With the appointment of ex VFL/ AFL star and TV Personality Richard Osborne. The Monash Gryphons started making the news in the lead up to the 2010 Season.
Club records along the way.
In 2011, the Club celebrated its 20 Year Anniversary. From its humble beginnings, The Monash Gryphons have transformed into a Club on the rise, continually challenging larger Clubs with a never say die attitude.
With continued community support there is no doubt history will continue to be written down at East Caulfield Reserve.
