Welcome to the Melbourne University Underwater Club (MUUC), a vibrant and active sports club located in Melbourne, Australia. MUUC is a group of skilled divers with a range of expertise, from recreational open water diving to advanced technical diving. Our members are passionate about the underwater world and have diverse interests, including underwater photography and cave diving.
Located near Port Phillip Bay, MUUC takes advantage of its stunning surroundings by organising regular diving trips, weather permitting. Our club is equipped with a 7. 5-metre Zodiac RIB dive boat, powered by twin Mercury 135 HP outboard engines, capable of accommodating up to 8 divers. With Port Phillip Bay right in our backyard, we have easy access to various dive sites in and around the bay.
Joining MUUC is easy and flexible, as we hold trips almost every weekend, including university holidays and public holidays. We welcome anyone interested in diving to attend our weekly meetings, held every Thursday at 7 pm at our shed near the Melbourne University Sports Centre in Tin Alley. It's the perfect opportunity to meet our members and get involved in the club. Additionally, gear rental is available every Thursday from 7 pm to 8 pm at the club shed.

Membership fees can be found on our price list, and membership grants access to all events for the current membership period, which runs from March 1st to February 28th. At MUUC, we are dedicated to providing a range of accessible courses to both University students and the local community. Our courses are designed to deliver the highest quality of training and skills, ensuring that you feel safe and confident in the water. Upon completion of our courses, you will receive an official PADI or SDI Certification Card that is recognised worldwide.
Our upcoming courses include the Learn to Scuba Dive – Open Water Courses. These courses consist of orientation, confined water training, and open water training over a series of designated dates. Each course requires attendance on all listed dates. The course price is $729 (excluding membership fees and security gear hire deposit), and transportation to each session is to be arranged by the student.
