The MMBL operates competitions each Wednesday evening for Senior Men & Women within the Melbourne metropolitan area. Teams entering must be an affiliated Association of Basketball Victoria.

Games are being played are at various venues within the metropolitan area allowing teams to play games at home venues or hosting venues. All venues during both Winter and Summer seasons are responsible for allocating referees for all games, along with scoretable officials.
