Harlequin Rugby Club, or “Quins,” is one of the most successful rugby clubs in Melbourne. Founded in 1928, it is also one of the oldest and largest rugby clubs in the city. The club offers rugby teams for all age groups, ranging from Under 6 to Dewar Shield leading 1st Grade, as well as Masters, Wheelchair Rugby, and a comprehensive summer Junior and Senior Touch club.
In 2022, Quins achieved great success by winning their 11th Dewar Shield premiership in the First Grade. They also won the Club Championship Cowper Shield for the 6th consecutive year. The club has a proud history of producing talented players who have gone on to represent Australia at the international and Super Rugby levels, including current Wallabies Rob Valetini and Hunter Paisami.
Located in the inner south-eastern suburb of Ashwood, Quins is just a short 20-minute drive from Melbourne's CBD. The club boasts top-notch rugby facilities, including a spacious custom-built clubroom and bar. They recently upgraded their main field playing surface, investing $1 million to create a high-quality field that has hosted Super Rugby trials.
At Harlequins, everyone is welcome, whether they are rugby and touch players of all ages and skill levels or enthusiastic supporters who want to soak up the vibrant atmosphere and hospitality that Quins Rugby offers.
