Welcome to Mangrove Mountain Pony Club! Founded in 1981, MMPC is a thriving sports club located in Gosford City Council, New South Wales. The club is dedicated to providing its members with coaching in various equestrian disciplines, as well as teaching them the essential aspects of horsemanship and horse welfare, all within a supportive and fun community.
MMPC is part of Zone 24 of The Pony Club Association of NSW, which comprises seven clubs in the area: Cooranbong, Mangrove Mountain, Matcham Valley, Tall Timbers, Toronto, Watagan, and Wyong Pony Clubs. With a stellar competition record, the club has consistently performed well at Zone, State, and National Championships. It has also been represented in pony club events at the prestigious Sydney Royal Agricultural Show.
Located at the picturesque Mangrove Creek Recreation Reserve on Wisemans Ferry Road, the club provides ample space for its activities. To ensure quality riding instruction, the maximum number of riding members has been set at 60. The club's colours have evolved over the years from brown and fawn to black, red, and white.
The club's facilities have seen significant improvements over time. The original clubhouse was built by local volunteers, and a successful fundraising campaign in 2006 allowed for the construction of a new toilet block. In December 2011, a grant enabled the club to build a brand new clubhouse, which was opened with a cake cutting ceremony led by the Honorary Life Members. These members have made remarkable contributions to the club throughout the years.
The club's activities are centred around monthly Rally Days, where members gather to engage in various equestrian activities, receive coaching, and participate in friendly competitions. These Rally Days are an excellent opportunity for members to bond, learn, and grow as equestrians together.
