Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian sport for children aged 3-17 years. As the name suggests, it is based upon the sport of athletics (track and field) and the events are specially modified to suit ages and abilities of children. A wide range of running, jumping, and throwing events are conducted at each meet. LADLAC is a place for parents and carers to be involved in the development of their children’s athletic skills including running, throwing and jumping. The emphasis is not on winning, even though everyone likes to win, but on each child achieving their personal best (or PB) and through Little Athletics, learning and developing new skills. Lyndoch and Districts Little Athletics Centre (LADLAC) is part of the South Australian Little Athletics Association (SALAA). Throughout the season, for those who wish to pursue athletics further, there are opportunities to compete with other children, from all over the state, at SALAA hosted events. We love seeing our kids competing at other stadiums in their bright green T-shirts! Between March and July there is also an opportunity for children to compete in cross country events.
