Barossa Rams RUFC is a thriving sports club located in The Barossa Council in South Australia. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the club embraces individuals and families and has a genuine love and passion for the game of rugby.
The club boasts an impressive range of teams, catering to players of all ages and skill levels. Currently, there are two senior teams, one women's team, and various age groups in the junior competition. From the little U7 Ramies to the experienced U18's Squad, there is a team for everyone. Any inquiries about joining the club can be directed to the club's inquiry email.
The club committee is a balanced mix of senior players, junior parents, coaches, and partners, all dedicated to ensuring the success and growth of the club. They are always open to suggestions and ideas that can benefit the club and its members.
Originally known as The Roseworthy Rams RUFC, the club underwent a relocation in 2006 due to funding changes from Roseworthy College. Despite the challenges, the club had a remarkable start, going undefeated in the 2006 season and winning the 3rd Division title. Over the years, the club expanded to field two teams in 2007, introduced junior rugby in the Barossa Valley in 2008, and played premier Grade rugby for the first time in 2013. The club's recent achievements include their Senior Men's teams making it to the finals in 2022 and the U16s winning their first-ever championship in 2018.
The Barossa Rams RUFC aims to provide a family-friendly rugby club environment for juniors of all ages, a strong senior men's division, and a competitive women's team. The club is situated in Lyndoch, a picturesque town in the renowned Barossa Valley region.
Each team within the club is supported by dedicated coaching staff and support personnel who stay up to date with the latest rugby practises. With a strong emphasis on “DISCIPLINE-UNITY-PASSION,” the club fosters a positive and inclusive attitude among all players. After training sessions, players can unwind and socialise with meals and bar facilities available on Thursdays.
For further information or to get in touch with the club committee, interested individuals can contact the President, Fraser Vivian, or explore the club's website and social media pages. The club welcomes new players, supporters, and sponsors to join them in their rugby journey.
