LAPS Swimming Centre is an independent swimming school located in Southport on the Gold Coast. Our primary focus is on providing personal attention, water safety, and a fun learning environment for children of all ages. We offer swimming lessons year-round in our 16-metre heated indoor pool.

Our programmes are designed to cater to babies, toddlers, and kids. We understand the importance of giving children an appreciation for the water while improving their water safety skills, confidence, and technique. Our classes are fun and interactive, and we cater to all abilities and levels.

For babies, we offer swimming classes that focus on basic water confidence techniques. Our aim is to create a fun and interactive atmosphere that allows your child to develop an appreciation for the water.

Toddlers can benefit from our swimming classes that focus on improving their water safety skills and awareness. We also work towards developing strokes and improving confidence in the water.

For children who are interested in competitive swimming or would like some fun and challenging physical activity, we offer swimming squads. Our squad training provides a great opportunity for children to further develop their skills and enjoy the benefits of regular exercise.

Our owner and director, Lisa Peters, is an AUSTSWIM Accredited Bronze Licence Level 2 Coach with over 15 years of experience instructing both children and adults. At LAPS Swimming Centre, our goal is to provide children with the skills and confidence to ensure their safety in the water and improve their stroke quality. All our instructors are trained according to LAPS high standards, AUSTSWIM accredited, and hold Blue Cards.

We are conveniently located at Lot 15 Southport Trade Centre on Jackman Street in Southport. Our location provides ample parking and is just a 2-minute drive from the central district of Southport.

At LAPS Swimming Centre, we have a 16-metre heated pool that is kept at a comfortable temperature of 32 degrees all year round. Our facility includes changing rooms, toilets, and a great viewing area for parents and carers. As a private centre, we are not open to the public for general swimming, as we believe a quiet and calm learning environment is crucial for both children and parents.

All our instructors at LAPS are trained according to our high standards. This means that if a teacher is absent, your child will still receive a quality lesson from another member of our team. Our instructors hold Blue Cards, AUSTSWIM Accreditation, and current CPR Certificates.
