Cosmos FC was founded on the Gold Coast in 2015 by a group of friends who had grown tired of playing for other teams where players were shamed, excluded or even verbally abused. There had to be a better way to just enjoy the beautiful game. The club was founded to create a better way of coming together where ALL regardless of race, creed or sexual preference would be able to come and play. Cosmos FC is as diverse as a team can be and has a player group of 30 men in the age 33- 55 years old men from 26 different nationalities. 5 years on Cosmos FC still play to their core values week in week out. Diversity, Inclusion, Respect, Teamwork and Friendship.
Team mates have become close friends and brothers. Players no longer playing are still part of the match day set up because the team offers a framework for friendship and a true sense of belonging that sadly so hard to find in today's society.
Cosmos FC is much more than a weekly gathering for players and coaching staff. The Cosmos social scene is renowned in the league where food from all corners of the work makes it onto the tables at all gatherings. Children and partners are regularly part of the gatherings that the club puts on.
