The club has a rich history that dates back to the late 1880s. It is a reincarnation of the original Pineapple Rovers, one of Queensland's oldest football clubs. The original Pineapple Rovers were highly successful, winning multiple Division 1 Championships in the 1920s and 1930s. After disbanding following World War II, the club was reformed in 1996 and took on the name Kangaroo Point Rovers FC in 2004.
