Janice Breen Performance Studio is a highly regarded sports club located in Sydney, Australia. With over 50 years of experience, the studio is known for creating dynamic young performers in the fields of dance, singing, and acting. Many of the past students from JBPS have achieved great success in various entertainment industries such as TV, film, advertising, commercial dance, and major musical theatre productions.
The studio was established by the late Janice Breen OAM, one of Sydney's most experienced entertainment professionals. In 1964, Janice opened the doors of the studio in Hillsdale, and it later moved to Coogee, where it operated for more than 40 years. Janice was not only an accomplished performer herself but also a dedicated teacher. She believed in fostering energy, fun, encouragement, and hard work in her students, while also emphasising the joy of simply being a kid.
Janice firmly believed that the confidence and discipline gained from performing would benefit her students throughout their lives.
Although Janice Breen is no longer with us, her incredible legacy lives on. The studio is now permanently located in Alexandria and offers a wide range of classes for dancers of all ages and skill levels. Available classes include jazz, tap, RAD classical ballet, lyrical, hip hop, singing, and acrobatics. The teachers at Janice Breen Performance Studio are highly qualified, with both tertiary and professional qualifications.
