The history of Jamberoo Golf Club dates back to the mid-1970s when a group of Jamberoo locals formed the Jamberoo Social Golf Club. After a few years of playing social golf at different courses, the group decided to establish their own golf club. In 1977, Kiama Council purchased a farm near the Minnamurra River, and the Jamberoo Social Golf Club requested consideration for the construction of a nine-hole golf course on the land. This led to negotiations and discussions between the club and the council, culminating in the establishment of Jamberoo Golf Club in the late 1970s.
