Indigos Cricket Club Inc

Indigos Cricket Club Inc. is a well-established turf cricket club located at Crawford Oval in Parkville, Melbourne. The club was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing opportunities for all, particularly immigrants, to play cricket at a competitive level and integrate into society. Since its establishment, Indigos has flourished and currently boasts five senior sides competing in the Mercantile Cricket Association's Turf Cricket competitions for the 2023/2024 season.

The club also has plans to expand with additional sides and a junior team in the near future.

Recognised as one of the best cricket clubs in the Mercantile Cricket Association, Indigos Cricket Club takes pride in its commitment to excellence both on and off the field. The club conducts an annual Annual General Meeting on September 14th to make important decisions, such as appointing captains and vice captains for the upcoming season.

In terms of team structure, the 1st XI's captain and vice-captain for the 2023/2024 season are yet to be determined, along with the team manager. The 2nd XI also awaits the appointment of its captain and vice-captain. These positions will be announced by the club committee during the Annual General Meeting.

Indigos Cricket Club holds strict player expectations to maintain professionalism and uphold the standards of the club. Captains are responsible for ensuring that games are played within the spirit of the game and the laws of cricket. Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship, respect the umpires' decisions, and refrain from any conduct that may bring the game into disrepute.

The club's achievements and events are regularly celebrated, with an awards night held at The Heritage, Bar, and Reception Centre in Epping. Indigos Cricket Club is currently based at Ross Straw Field on Manningham Street in Parkville, Melbourne.

Registration for the upcoming cricket season is now open, and the club invites all seniors interested in playing turf cricket to join. Most matches take place in Inner Melbourne, and all games are played on turf pitches. Competing in local competitions, Indigos Cricket Club provides a fantastic opportunity for players to develop their skills and be part of a vibrant cricket community.
