The history of HUCC can be traced back to the early 1920s when social games of cricket were organised for families and friends of church members. A meeting was held in September 1926 to formalise a cricket team, leading to the establishment of Hampton Methodist Cricket Club. Over the years, the club has evolved and changed affiliations, ultimately joining the City of Moorabbin Cricket Association (now South East Cricket Association). In 1976, HUCC expanded its reach by affiliating junior teams with the CMCA and Federal District Cricket Association.
