FunFit Gymnastics originally began as Activ8 Gymfun in 2014. But when it was time to affiliate with Gymnastics Queensland in 2015, they were unhappy with the name, so the club was re-named FunFit Gymnastics. So when you are searching, you may well find both the old and the new of both the website and the Facebook pages.
The club initially started with one class of 8 students that quickly grew to 2 classes and so on. There are now 15 classes to choose from including Gymnastics for All, Acrobatic, Stretch, Strength and Conditioning, Playgym and WAG/MAG. The club also provides 2 private classes for Wynnum Family Daycare. Some are almost full and some are still growing.
The club also has a display team that goes into the community to perform at events such as school fetes festivals and club fun days. You can get into the display team by selection only, but the aptitude and abiity that is required, is determination, committment, skill set and team work.
The club is also part of a programme through Sporting Wheelies, whereby a club coach does unpaid classes in at Princess Alexandra Hospital in both the Brain Injury and Spinal Units. A coach also goes into the Wynnum Rehabilitation Brain Injury Unit to provide a class.
