Wynnum District Lawn Tennis Association Inc

Wynnum District Lawn Tennis Association Inc, also known as "Wynnum Tennis”, is a sports club located in Brisbane, Australia. The club was first formed in 1928 and has a rich history of providing tennis facilities and programmes to the local community.

Initially, private courts in the wider Wynnum District were used for tennis fixtures until 1953, when the club was granted a lease from the Brisbane City Council. The current site of the association, Kitchener Park on Colina Street in Wynnum, now houses four granite tennis courts.

With the dedication and fundraising efforts of club members and the wider community, the facilities at "Wynnum Tennis” have expanded over the years. The club currently boasts ten all-weather, championship-sized tennis courts, including six hard courts and four artificial grass courts. Additionally, six of the courts feature new tournament standard court lighting.

The club is a not-for-profit organisation run by a dedicated volunteer committee. All the funds generated by the club are reinvested into maintaining and improving the facilities for the benefit of its members and the wider community. As a valuable community asset, "Wynnum Tennis” encourages all Wynnum and Bayside residents to support their local community tennis association and take advantage of the great facilities and programmes available.

In addition to the tennis courts, "Wynnum Tennis” has a modern double-story brick clubhouse. The clubhouse features fully licenced bar facilities, a modern kitchen with servery, refrigerator, freezer, coldroom, convection & microwave ovens, a large dance floor, and sit-down tables & chairs with cutlery & crockery for 80 guests. The clubhouse is also available for hire, making it a great venue for engagement parties, birthday parties, and other events.
