East Gippsland Gymnastics

East Gippsland Gymnastics is a community-based gymnastics club situated in Bairnsdale, Victoria. We have recently relocated to our new facility at the Lucknow Recreation Reserve (64 Great Alpine Road, Lucknow). Our club offers a strong recreational stream, providing inclusive and enjoyable classes for children aged from pre-kinder to adults. We also have a competition stream that allows gymnasts to progress through Gymnastics Australia’s Artistic Gymnastics levels programme.

At East Gippsland Gymnastics, our primary focus is physical wellbeing and the development of skills in a safe, friendly, and fun environment. We welcome new members and are always on the lookout for dedicated coaches, judges, and volunteers to join our team.

We offer a range of classes to suit everyone. Enrolling in a class is based on age rather than ability, and no prior experience is necessary to join our club. Children can progress through various classes, starting with Kindergym for ages 2-5, followed by Fun Gym or Ninja for ages 5-8, and finally Ninja & Team Gym for ages 8 and above, which allows older children to train alongside their peers in either gymnastics or ninja disciplines. Children who show a passion for gymnastics and are ready to commit to the Australian levels programme and competitions may be selected by our coaches to enter the Levels programme from the age of 7.

Adult classes are also available at our club, catering to individuals of all skill levels. Class fees are charged on a term basis, with payment made fortnightly in advance via direct debit or in full before the start of the term. Additionally, an annual non-refundable registration fee is required upon enrolment to cover association memberships and insurance. Keep an eye out for our Holiday programmes, which are an excellent opportunity to experience the sport and get a feel for our club.

Our club places a strong emphasis on technique, skill-building, and fostering a love for the sport of gymnastics. We are proud to offer the ExploreGym programme for children aged 12 months to 2 years, which sets the foundation for proficient movement and supports vital cognitive development during the early years. The programme includes warm-up games, two separate circuits (including beams and tumble trampolines), and fortnightly surprises to excite and engage toddlers.
