Darwin Surf Life Saving Club (DSLSC) is a prominent sports club located on the pristine Casuarina Beach in Darwin, Australia. Established in 1982, DSLSC has been providing a high-standard volunteer beach safety service to the Darwin community. Over the years, the club has dedicated more than 25,000 hours to patrolling Casuarina and Nightcliff Beaches, ensuring the safety of beachgoers. These patrols take place on Sunday mornings and afternoons from May to October.
DSLSC boasts a diverse membership of over 300 individuals, including Junior members (5-13 years), youth members (U15s, U17s & U19s), Senior members (19 years upwards), Associate members, and Social members. The DSLSC clubhouse is located on Daribah Road, situated in the Casuarina Coastal Reserve. The venue offers stunning sunset views, making it a popular choice for functions, weddings, and other events. The main clubhouse bar and balcony, as well as the observation deck and lawns, are available for hire, providing ample space for various occasions. Additionally, an air-conditioned function room is available for meetings, planning days, and staff retreats.
Members and guests can enjoy the clubhouse bar every Friday and Sunday evening from 5pm, offering a wide selection of beverages. On Sundays, there is live entertainment on stage from 5:30pm, weather permitting. The club also organises exclusive venue functions and activities throughout the year, including the Bali Vibes Beach Festival.
DSLSC is committed to educating and upskilling its members. The club offers courses and education opportunities, such as Skills Maintenance Sessions, to ensure that patrolling members are equipped with the necessary qualifications and skills for the season ahead. These sessions are highly recommended for active members to renew their qualifications and stay prepared.
