Trauma Centre Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is a programme offered at Centre of Balance. It is a model of yoga that serves as an adjunctive therapy for chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD and complex trauma. TCTSY has its foundations in trauma theory, attachment theory, neuroscience, and Hatha yoga. The programme has been facilitated in Australia since 2015 and has licenced trainers throughout Europe and Australia.
Maria Jude is proud to be one of the few trainers of this model within Australasia.
TCTSY classes at Centre of Balance are open to all individuals regardless of age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, body type, and physical ability. Participants are required to be in therapy or have access to a therapist. Class sizes are limited to 12 participants to ensure individual attention and support. Additionally, mental health clinicians are invited to attend one complimentary class to gain further information and knowledge about TCTSY.
Centre of Balance also offers workshops, facilitation, and training in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. Maria Jude conducts workshops both in Hobart and online, allowing individuals to deepen their understanding of this therapeutic practise. The 300-hour certification programme for yoga teachers and mental health professionals is also available, providing comprehensive training in TCTSY.
