The Casey-Cardinia HPV and Cycling Club was formed in 2005 as the Berwick HPV and Cycling Club, as a result of the coming together of many of the school groups from the district who competed in cycling and HPV events. Berwick Secondary College, which had long been involved in the events, provided support for the organisation and the first executive of the club.
The club held its first HPV and Cycling Event at the Cranbourne Complex on June 26th, 2005 where the day went perfectly.
The much anticipated Casey Fields Criterium Track was officially opened in April 2006. The following week, club training commenced with at least 4 local schools joining in.
The club has held its annual event, the Casey Cycling Festival each year since. At this years event, over 80 Human Powered Vehicle Teams battled it out over six hours for line honours on the full 2. 2 km circuit and approximately 110 cyclists from schools all over Victoria raced in Criterium events on the shortened 1. 5 km loop.
