The code of Rugby League commenced in Campbelltown in 1912 when the first club “The Campbelltown Kangaroos” was formed. In 1918, an internal dispute led to a split in the club and two teams were then formed : “The Kangaroos” and “The Originals”. Both clubs amalgamated again in 1921. During the years 1939 – 1945 there was no football competition played in the district.
In 1985, “Campbelltown Liverpool District Junior Rugby League” was the governing body and from 1986 until today the authority has been the “Western Suburbs Distict Rugby League Football Club”.
