CYMS Basketball Association, based in Melbourne, is a popular sports club that offers basketball opportunities for players of all skill levels. The club prides itself on creating a friendly and inclusive environment for basketball enthusiasts to compete and have fun.
Uniform regulations are an important aspect of CYMS Basketball Association. Starting from Round 5 of each season, penalties of 5 points per incorrect uniform are enforced. Players must be aware of and adhere to the uniform requirements, which can be found in the Competition Details section on the club's website.
One significant rule to note is that shorts must not have pockets. This rule is in place to ensure fair play and prevent any advantages or disadvantages caused by pockets.
Joining a team at CYMS Basketball Association is a straightforward process. Anyone interested in joining a team can visit the club's office at MSAC on Sunday evenings to leave their details. They are also encouraged to walk around the courts and gauge the playing level of the games. The club aims to match individuals with a team that suits their skill level.
Sunday night entry for teams requires the payment of a $70 team sheet fee before the games commence. This fee can be paid either by card at the front entry desk located near the entry doors to the Arena Courts or via Teammo. Individual player fees are not required, and spectators can enter for free.
To stay up-to-date with the latest match results, fixtures, and stats, CYMS Basketball Association recommends downloading the GameDay App. This app allows users to easily access information about their favourite teams and keep an eye on their rivals.

The safety and well-being of players is a top priority at CYMS Basketball Association. In the event of a blood rule, any player who is bleeding or has an open wound must leave the court. A substitute player can be called on, and the affected area should be properly treated and covered. If blood is on the player's uniform, it must be changed, but no penalty will be applied if a substitute uniform is worn.
If blood is on the ball, it must be replaced. A blood kit is available to safely remove any spilled blood on the floor.
CYMS Basketball Association is committed to providing a fun and competitive basketball experience for all participants. Whether you're a skilled player or just starting out, this club welcomes you to join their community and enjoy the sport of basketball.
