Bellambi SLSC

Bellambi Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) is a welcoming and inclusive sports club located in Wollongong, just an hour's drive south of Sydney. Since its establishment on January 23, 1909, our dedicated members have been proudly patrolling Bellambi Beach, ensuring the safety of all beachgoers.

At Bellambi SLSC, we prioritise community spirit and water safety in a fun and relaxed family club environment. Our mission is to provide a range of opportunities for individuals of all ages to engage in surf life-saving activities, including education, nippers, surf sports, and more.

Education is a core aspect of our club, and we offer our members a variety of lifesaving awards. These awards enable our volunteers to perform vital roles within the club and provide them with further development opportunities. Bulli Surf Club, our training partner, offers various courses designed to equip our members with life skills that are essential for water safety.

Nippers is a beloved programme at Bellambi SLSC, providing a fun and family-oriented environment for kids aged 5–14 years. Our goal is to teach nippers how to have fun while staying safe on our magnificent beaches. Additionally, it offers them the chance to train and compete in surf sports, fostering a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship.

For those seeking a more competitive experience, our surf sports competitions present an opportunity to test skills and fitness against other lifesavers from around the country. From beach sprints to boards, skis, and ocean swimming, these events showcase the wide range of abilities required in a surf life-saving role.

Bellambi SLSC is also home to Olive's Café, open seven days a week from 8am to 2pm. This addition enhances the community atmosphere of our club, providing a place for members and visitors to relax and enjoy delicious food and drinks.

As a club, we take great pride in our contribution to the local community and the ongoing safety of Bellambi Beach. We are honoured to have Patrons Alison Byrnes MP, Ryan Park MP, and Chairman Bellambi Bowling Club, Craig Kershaw, supporting our club.
