Ashbury Netball Club is grateful for the support of its members, both past and present, including players, coaches, managers, umpires, administrators, parents, spectators, and volunteers, who have contributed to the ongoing success of the club. The club values feedback and encourages members to reach out through the available contact information.
The 2023 season for Ashbury Netball Club will commence on Saturday, April 22nd at IWNA, Cintra Park Concord. The club will field 22 teams ranging from 8s to Seniors, as well as offering a Mini Magpies programme. The Minis programme will begin the following Saturday, April 29th. The competition fixture is now available on the Winter Comp Fixture page.
It is important for coaches to ensure that all players, especially new players, have a designated meeting place or court number for the first day of games. Parking can be congested around Cintra Park, so it is advised to allow ample time for arrival and to be considerate of residents by avoiding parking in driveways.
The official March Past for Ashbury Netball Club will take place at 10:00am on April 22nd. The games scheduled for 8:30am and 9:30am will be played 30 minutes earlier to accommodate the March Past. It is highly encouraged for as many Ashbury players as possible to show their support for the club during this event.
Scoring during games requires each team to nominate a scorer for the entire game, without any swapping. The scorer is responsible for both scoring and ticking player participation on the scoresheet. If a player is absent, the tick box should be left blank. Typically, the first named team is responsible for scoring, but this is not a strict rule.
The scorer must record all details of any players playing up, including their full name and the team they are playing up from.
Strict uniform guidelines apply for all players. The recommended uniform consists of the ANC dress with black sports briefs or ANC shorts and shirt. Players should wear mainly white socks and appropriate footwear. Those in the Mini Magpies programme should wear black shorts or tracksuit pants with the Woolworths NetSetGo shirt and appropriate footwear.
Players are allowed to wear three-quarter or full-length black tights with the ANC shirt or dress, as long as they are of a reasonable thickness and primarily black without any logos. White long sleeve shirts may be worn under the uniform if it is cold. Jewellery, including earrings, nose rings, rings, bracelets, etc. , must not be worn during games.
Recent ear piercings cannot be taped and earrings must be removed. Additionally, players with long hair must tie it back and keep it out of their eyes.
To support the club's equipment and trophy needs, Ashbury Netball Club holds an annual fundraising BBQ at IWNA. This year, a Trivia Night event will also be held. Volunteers will be required for the BBQ, and a team roster will be shared closer to the event date.
Ashbury Netball Club Inc is committed to providing a supportive and enjoyable environment for netball enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. The club appreciates the dedication and contributions of everyone involved and looks forward to another successful season.
