“Joe Thambu Shuseki is the head of Aikido Shudokan, a sports club located in Springvale, Melbourne. With a proud history as the first Yoshinkan style Aikido dojo in Australia, Aikido Shudokan is dedicated to promoting the practise of Aikido and its principles of self-improvement, discipline, and harmony.
Aikido Shudokan offers a range of classes suitable for all ages and skill levels. They have classes specifically tailored for children (up to 12 years old), teenagers (13–16 years old), and adults (beginners). The classes focus on various aspects of fitness, including aerobic conditioning, flexibility, posture, timing, reactions, coordination, and balance. Participants can also expect to develop full-body strength and stamina, as well as improve their weight loss, stress relief, and concentration.
The practise of Aikido at Aikido Shudokan goes beyond physical fitness. Students will learn important skills such as avoidance, control, neutralisation, and the cultivation of a calm mind. The practise also emphasises the integration of breath and harnessing natural energies. As a result, participants can experience increased relaxation, focus, awareness, confidence building, and stress management.
Aikido Shudokan welcomes beginners and offers a special promotion for new students. Upon signing up, new students can enjoy $100 off their first month of classes and receive a complimentary heavy quality uniform. To further cater to individual needs, Aikido Shudokan also provides specialised private classes for those who prefer a more personalised approach.
