The club specialises in Goju-Ryu Karate, a traditional style developed by the late Ohtsuka Tadahiko Hanshi. Led by Shihan Gary Jackson and a team of highly dedicated instructors, Advance Martial Arts Academy offers a rare and unique opportunity to train in this traditional martial art in Australia.

The mission of Advance Martial Arts Academy is to provide lifelong skills and personal development through professional and caring instruction in the art of Goju-Ryu Karate. In addition to Goju-Ryu Karate, the academy also offers Tai Chi classes at various venues across Australia. Tai Chi, practised in Yang, Chen, and Sun styles, is an ancient art that aims to improve overall health and well-being through regular practise and exercise. The classes are conducted in a friendly and caring environment and are tailored to each individual's own health and ability.

The instructors at Advance Martial Arts Academy are highly experienced and passionate about their craft. Shihan Gary Jackson, a 5th Dan Black Belt, is the Head Instructor and conducts Karate classes at various locations including Alexandra, Mansfield, Kinglake, and Yea. He also teaches Tai Chi at Toorak and Kilmore. Other instructors include Sensei Cameron Adrain, Sensei Joseph Xuereb, Sensei Rod Peters, Sensei Darren Sampson, Sensei Darryl Davis, and Sensei Geoff Barry, who conduct Karate and Tai Chi classes at different locations across Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia.

To support their students, Advance Martial Arts Academy offers a range of merchandise in their team shop. This includes sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, and uniforms, allowing members to proudly represent their dojo.
