Lisa Evans, the organiser at The 4 Gaits Riding School, has a message for all horse enthusiasts in our sports community 🐴. Located in Ashford within the picturesque Bilsington Priory Estate, this family-run equestrian centre offers a warm environment for riders of all ages.
With 1000 acres of off-road hacking, riders can explore woodlands, fields, and various gallops — grass and all-weather. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, there's something for everyone.
Lisa's journey with horses started young, and she has been running the school for 15 years now. In 2010, 4 Gaits became an approved Pony Club Centre, opening doors for children and adults to dive deep into the world of equestrianism.
Helping Lisa are her two daughters, who've been riding since they were small. Together, their goal is to foster an inclusive space for everyone to enjoy horse riding, carriage drives, or simply bonding with horses. They believe spending time with horses offers therapeutic benefits that uplift mental well-being and overall health.
Access for all is important at 4 Gaits. The school is a proud supporter of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and earned the accessibility mark back in 2005. They collaborate with local schools and organisations, witnessing wonderful improvements in confidence, self-esteem, and responsibility among participants.
The focus at 4 Gaits is also on nurturing future equestrians. With a full schedule of events, there's always something to engage both children and adults, from riding skill improvement to own-a-pony days and showjumping.
