About

Welcome to the transformative journey of a lifetime! WHY RETREAT's 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training takes place amidst the natural splendour of Whangarei Heads from May 24th to June 17th, 2024. In the intimacy of a small group, participants will work closely with highly experienced yoga trainers, Manouk Tideman C-IAYT and Jo Woollacott C-IAYT who will guide them through a month of profound self-discovery and growth.

Get ready for an unforgettable and life-changing adventure! This 200hr Yoga Teacher Training teaches students all the knowledge and skills required to be effective and compassionate Yoga Teachers in today’s modern world. The training takes place in a collaborative, inspiring and supportive environment with a therapeutic and trauma-informed perspective of yoga. WHAT RETREAT's distinct quality is that they effortlessly blend the ancient intuitive wisdom of Yoga with a contemporary perspective of the mind and body.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from highly qualified and experienced trainers. Manouk and Jo have built successful careers as yoga teachers and certified Yoga Therapists. The all-inclusive price covers accommodation, meals, and the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, making planning and preparing for the training much easier.

With a small group size of 3 to 8 students per training, participants will receive plenty of attention to their personal practice and develop themselves as highly skilful yoga teachers through feedback and support from the trainers. Located on the stunning North Island of New Zealand, Whangarei Heads offers the perfect backdrop for this Yoga Teacher Training journey with its pristine beaches, lush forests, and unmatched natural beauty.

The curriculum covers six main topics, each designed to give participants a comprehensive and practically-applicable understanding of essential subjects related to teaching yoga. The main style of yoga taught is Hatha Yoga, allowing for an in-depth exploration of each pose to create a solid foundation for practising and teaching yoga safely and appropriately.

The Lead Trainer for this programme is Manouk Tideman, a certified Yoga Therapist and Yoga Teacher Trainer with extensive knowledge and experience in therapeutic and remedial yoga. Jo Woollacott, the co-trainer, brings her passion for well-being to the programme as the owner-manager of WHY RETREAT.
