Are you the owner of ywiec?

Ywiec is a renowned dance company based in London, dedicated to showcasing the vibrant and rich traditions of Polish folk song and dance. Founded in 1965 by K Kazio Grzymaa and Pani Irena Rycka as part of the Polish Millennium Youth Club in Ealing, ywiec has continuously evolved under the guidance of its talented choreographers.
Andrzej Sagajllo took over as choreographer in 1976 and led the group for more than three decades. His dedication and passion for Polish folk dance contributed greatly to the growth and success of ywiec. In 2006, his daughter Klara Sagajllo assumed the role of choreographer, followed by Dara Stringham in 2008. Currently, the company is under the artistic direction of Marta Tatol, ensuring that the tradition and spirit of Polish folk dance are preserved and celebrated.
In addition to the main group, ywiec also has junior groups led by Maria Cieslak, Marta Sagajllo, and Marta Tatol. This allows younger members to develop their skills and immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Polish dance.
The weekly rehearsals at ywiec are lively and enjoyable, fostering camaraderie among the members. The sessions commence with a 15-minute warm-up, followed by an hour-and-a-half of choreography. The group then dedicates approximately 30 minutes to improving their singing and learning new songs. The rehearsals create an immersive experience where members can enhance their dance skills, learn new songs, and connect with like-minded individuals who share a love for Polish folk culture.
If you are interested in joining ywiec, the company always welcomes new members. By becoming a part of ywiec, you will have the opportunity to learn traditional Polish folk dances and songs. It is a fantastic way to keep fit, express yourself creatively, and be a part of exhilarating performances. The dance company believes in inclusivity and warmly invites individuals from all backgrounds and levels of experience to join.
The rehearsals take place at Windsor Hall, located at 2 Windsor Road in Ealing. The nearest tube and train station is Ealing Broadway, ensuring convenient access for members. To participate in rehearsals, comfortable clothing is required, such as t-shirts and jogging bottoms for boys, and leggings and skirts for girls. Smooth soled flat shoes are also necessary.
