The Canoe Sports Trust is gearing up for an action-packed day with the upcoming Youth Kayak Polo Competition. This event is perfect for youth organizations and schools with participants aged 10-14 who are keen to show off their paddling skills in a friendly competition.
Teams of four players, with one or two reserves, will battle it out on the water, showcasing their prowess in maneuvering a Sit on Top (SoT) Kayak. From effective turning techniques to mastering capsizing and getting back on the kayak, these young athletes are sure to impress. This competition is designed to introduce youngsters to the exhilarating world of kayak polo in a safe and supportive setting.
With ten teams set to participate, the competition will feature two heats, giving each team the chance to play four games before advancing to the semi-finals and finals. Spectators, including proud parents, are encouraged to come and cheer on the teams as they compete for victory. On top of the intense competition, players will have the opportunity to hone their skills on the lake under careful supervision.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, 6th July 2024, as the event kicks off at Nomad Kayak Club's facility on Bury Lake Young from 12 noon to 6 pm. Bring along your packed lunch and get ready to enjoy some thrilling matches. Hot and cold drinks will be provided throughout the day, with a snack break scheduled for 4 pm.
