Young's Academy of Dance

Alan Young wants to send a warm note to the sports community about Young's Academy of Dance, situated in Walsall, West Midlands. Established back in 1995 by Alan Young himself, the academy has been the go-to place for quality dance lessons for over 25 years. Specialising in Ballroom and Latin American Dancing, they also offer a mix of styles including Salsa, Rock n Roll, Ballet, Tap, Street, Freestyle, and Western Line Dance.

Whether you're an adult or a kid, there’s something for everyone with regular classes running throughout the week. Booking classes? Easy peasy through their website, and you’ll be dancing in no time in their spacious, well-equipped studios. Most of the action happens in “The Ballroom,” the main studio, but for Tap and smaller kids' classes, you’ll find yourself in “The Studio.”

But it’s not just about classes. The academy also organises a range of events to make your dance journey more exciting. Adults can enjoy social dances, Christmas balls, and even Sunday afternoon socials with free refreshments. For the young dancers, examinations and presentations happen thrice a year, giving them the chance to shine and show off their progress.

Parking woes? Not here. With a large car park that fits over twenty cars, convenience is key. Alan’s extensive experience – over fifty years as a competitor, instructor, and coach – is complemented by his roles as a Fellow and Examiner of the UKAPTD and multi-title winner in Ballroom and Latin American Championships.

Running the show alongside Alan is Karen Young, affectionately dubbed “Dance Mum” by the teenagers. With her know-how and commitment, the studio is in great hands.
