Natasha Guinnessy would like to welcome everyone to Young at Heart Dance, a dance school based in Glasgow where dance and exercise come together to offer a fun and sociable way for anyone over 50 to stay fit. Research shows that dance can improve strength, muscle function, balance, and flexibility, while also promoting well-being and social inclusion.
Young at Heart Dance classes are perfect for those aged 50 and above. They provide an uplifting experience for the body, mind, and spirit in a relaxed setting with like-minded individuals. The classes are led by Natasha Guinnessy, a seasoned dance teacher with a background in ballet and contemporary dance. Natasha trained at the Edinburgh Ballet Academy and the London Contemporary Dance School, earning a BA in Dance and Education from Middlesex University.
Natasha’s dance career has included performances in London’s West End and collaborations with renowned choreographers and companies like Glyndebourne Opera Festival, English National Opera, and Opera North. Upon returning to Scotland, she has choreographed for the Citizen's Theatre and Scottish Opera, and taught at Scottish Ballet Education and YDance. She also served as Dance Development Officer for North and South Lanarkshire, creating dance programmes for schools, theatres, festivals, and communities.
One of Natasha's most fulfilling achievements is the growth of Young at Heart Dance. What began as a single class in Motherwell has now expanded across Lanarkshire, offering quality dance exercise tailored to the needs of those aged 50 and above.
Class sizes are kept small to ensure individual attention and a comfortable learning environment. Sessions are held at various venues in Glasgow, including St Bride's Church Hall in Bothwell, Baljaffray Parish Church in Bearsden, and Hyndland Hall in Hyndland.
For a small fee of £6-£7 per class, depending on the venue, participants can pay as they go, making it flexible and convenient. However, due to limited spaces, it’s advisable to book in advance. For enquiries, bookings, or to join a waiting list, please visit our website’s contact page.
Come join Young at Heart Dance and discover the joy, health benefits, and social connections that dance brings. Let's dance our way to a healthier and happier life together!
