Yonder Girls Surf Club

Yonder Girls Surf Club is a renowned surf school located in North Shields, New Zealand. Established in 2018 by Sally McGee, a respected surfer and Finisterre Ambassador, along with her husband Tom Bing, a professional photographer, Yonder is dedicated to supporting and nurturing a growing community of female surfers.

Yonder was founded with the goal of providing an alternative route for women into surfing. Since its inception, the school has been offering high-quality surf coaching, courses, and camps, catering exclusively to women. Through the Yonder Surf Academy, which operates as a CIC (Community Interest Company), Yonder works to inspire and support marginalised women and girls. Their mission is to build confidence, self-esteem, and positive mental health through surfing. The academy has successfully run lessons and training camps for hundreds of women and girls, with transformative outcomes reported by participants and partner charities.

The school has facilitated lifelong connexions, enabled the formation of surf buddy networks, organised trips, and cultivated a thriving surf scene in the North East of England and beyond.
