
Yoker Bowling Club, founded in 1850, is one of the oldest and most esteemed lawn bowls clubs in the Glasgow area. Situated on the boundary with Clydebank, it has achieved the remarkable distinction of winning all county competitions, making it one of the few clubs in the country to do so. Affiliated with the Clydebank and District Bowling Association, as well as the Dumbartonshire Bowling Association and Bowls Scotland, the club plays within District 23.
At Yoker Bowling Club, they take pride in their fully inclusive Constitution, ensuring that all members, old and new, are warmly welcomed. For the season of 2023, the membership fees are as follows: New Members – 50, Full Members – 110, and Retired Members – 75.
Heading the management board for the season 2023/24 are the capable office bearers: President John Mulholland, Vice President Matthew Abbott, Secretary John Anderson, and Treasurers Gary Raine and Mark Miller. Alongside them are board members including Gary Raine, Phil Parry, Les Durkan, Stewart Watson, David Robertson, Bill Barclay, and Mark Miller. The club also boasts honorary life members, including President George McCartney, Vice President Mitch Hughes, John Anderson, Jim Curl, David Robertson, and Gary Earl.
Yoker Bowling Club also offers a fantastic function hall for hire, perfect for various occasions (except 18th and 21st celebrations). However, please note that during winter from October to March, the club operates limited hours and may be closed when contacted. In such cases, visitors are encouraged to leave their message on the answering machine.
