Yoga Alive is a relaxed and friendly traditional yoga studio located on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. This studio caters to adults of all ages and fitness levels, providing a welcoming environment for everyone to practise yoga.
The studio emphasises the numerous benefits of yoga, which include improvements in health, vitality, body image, flexibility, strength, endurance, cardiovascular health, and mindfulness. These benefits can be both obvious and subtle, and Yoga Alive aims to help individuals experience and appreciate them.
At Yoga Alive, yoga is best practised with eyes closed to enhance the awareness of its effects on both the body and mind. The teachers provide clear and straightforward explanations for each practise, eliminating the need to watch them in the traditional manner. This approach allows practitioners to focus solely on their internal experience and maximise the benefits of their yoga practise.
To accommodate different needs and levels of experience, Yoga Alive offers a diverse timetable of classes. Gentle Classes are designed for those who are new to yoga or are recovering from injuries, while Intermediate Classes cater to students who have been practising yoga for many years. Additionally, Vedanta, the instructor, has extensive experience in yoga, having practised it since 1981 and taught it since 2008. She holds a 3-year Diploma of Satyananda Yoga Training and is an accredited Level 2 Yoga Teacher.
Yoga Alive follows the Satyananda-style of yoga, which is grounded in tradition and offers a comprehensive approach to living in the modern world. This style encompasses various aspects of yoga, including Hatha, Raja, Karma, Jnana, Mantra, and Bhakti Yoga. Safety and personal growth are prioritised, making it an ideal choice for those looking for a well-rounded yoga practise that promotes holistic well-being.
In addition to its yoga classes, Yoga Alive also houses a small borrowing library. Vedanta, the founder, has a deep love for books and learning, and she has integrated this passion into the studio by offering a selection of books for long-time practitioners to borrow and expand their knowledge. This added feature reflects Yoga Alive's commitment to fostering a nurturing and intellectually enriching community.
Yoga Alive is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals of all backgrounds to explore the transformative power of yoga. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this traditional yoga studio on the Central Coast offers a supportive and engaging environment to enhance your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
