Although our Yoga classes are open to everyone, not just climbers, they offer numerous benefits that are particularly useful for climbers. Yoga helps improve flexibility, muscular endurance, balance, co-ordination, and core stability. Moreover, it nurtures a deeper connection between the mind, body, and breath, fostering a state of 'flow' that can be applied during climbing. We understand that people have different preferences and needs, which is why we offer a variety of classes and yoga styles to cater to everyone.
Our Vinyasa class is dynamic, flowing, and invigorating, with each movement linked to the breath. It's perfect for improving fitness, core strength, and muscular endurance. Prior knowledge of yoga is helpful, as the class moves at quite a fast pace.
For those focusing on alignment and exploring each yoga pose deeply, our Hatha class is ideal. It incorporates elements of strength, balance, and flexibility. This class is excellent for beginners, as well as more experienced yogis, as progressions and variations are offered throughout. The pace is a bit slower than Vinyasa, allowing for a more focused practice.
If you're new to yoga or looking to establish a strong foundation, our Iyengar beginners' classes provide a great starting point. Led by experienced instructors, these classes emphasise correct and precise actions in yoga poses.
For those who have attended the beginners class for at least a year, our general/intermediate classes offer a wider range of poses, including inverted postures. These classes are perfect for those looking to progress and challenge themselves.
We also offer a unique class called Yoga for Adventure Sports. Led by a physiotherapist, this class aims to prevent injuries and build balance, strength, and stability in both the body and mind. It combines the joys and challenges of outdoor and adventure sports, incorporating breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation practices. Don't worry if you're new to yoga; no yoga experience is necessary to join this class.
Additionally, we have the Yoga for Adventure Sports – Monthly Workshop. This relaxed and practical session allows for deeper exploration of the 'Yoga for Adventure Sports' practice. Participants can expect a combination of theory, guided practice, and self-inquiry, facilitating the development of their yoga practice in relation to outdoor and adventure sports, as well as everyday life.
