In 2001, we decided to change our name to Ye Olde Delph Bowmen to reflect our new location.
Since then, Ye Olde Delph Bowmen has grown into a thriving archery club in the St Helens area. We welcome archers of all ages and abilities, whether you are a beginner looking to try out the sport or an experienced archer looking for a new club to join.
Our main focus is on field archery, which involves shooting at paper face and 3D targets at varied and unmarked distances. We believe this type of archery allows for a more challenging and exciting experience, as it is set in a woodland and rough terrain setting.
We have a number of shoot venues available for our members to use, each offering unique challenges and beautiful surroundings. From our original venue at Fox Covert in Grange Valley, Haydock, to our current location adjacent to the A580 East Lancashire Road, each venue provides a different shooting experience.
At Ye Olde Delph Bowmen, we strive to create a welcoming and friendly environment for all of our members. We have a Members Only area on our website where you can access exclusive content and resources to enhance your archery skills. Additionally, we hold regular open shoots where archers from other clubs are invited to join us for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
One of the highlights of our open shoots is the presentation of medals to the top three archers in each category. We take pride in recognising the achievements of our members and fostering a sense of achievement and community within the club.
Overall, Ye Olde Delph Bowmen is a local field archery club that offers a wonderful, pleasant, and peaceful location to take part in the fantastic hobby of field archery. With our friendly members, diverse shoot venues, and commitment to excellence, we are proud to be a part of the archery community in St Helens. Join us today and experience the joy of archery with Ye Olde Delph Bowmen.
